Helping boast the incredible facilities of London’s largest Paintball center
Located within the M25 in Abridge, Essex and less than 10 minutes from the nearest London line tube station, Mayhem Paintball is London and the South East’s largest paintball site with over 40 acres of land dedicated to paintball and other similar activities.
Over the 40 acres, Mayhem has 17 different combat zones to experience, 3 of which are inspired from the popular games franchise Call of Duty. For new, as well as regular players, game zones can play a crucial part in choosing to use the venue. With this in mind, and having a healthy amount of competition from other sites in the south of the UK, Mayhem ideally wanted to refresh old imagery on their website with enhanced 3D visuals and detailed drone footage ensuring the players have a clear understanding of exactly what they could experience.
Mayhem Paintball currently features six 3D visuals of different game zones with more to be added in the near future. Both the 3D visuals and drone footage were shot using our DJI 4 Mini drones for sharp and detailed imagery.
Not only do avisionary make great videos, their 3d work is cutting edge. I’ve not seen anything like anywhere else, when they send me their work I have to show everyone. They also can’t believe how good it is. I would strongly recommend looking though their portfolio.

Challenges
Airspace
Mayhem Paintball’s land is bordered with a small active aircraft landing strip which can create safety issues whilst filming with drones. Fortunately as we use one of the most modern drones on the market, weighing less than 250 grams, there was no requirement with the aerodrome for permission to fly.

Tight Spaces
With some locations of the paintball site being within wooded areas, filming could have proven to be problematic attempting to fly a drone within the trees without any obstacle issues. However, DJI’s latest drone includes an advantageous 360 degree sensor which prevents any flying problems and making any previously challenging shots possible.

In addition to the 3D visuals, we also created for Mayhem’s website individual showcase videos for each highlighted map to maximise the visual experience they offer.
All 10 videos contain a mix of high octane drone and handheld footage together with graphical overlays and fitting music to elevate the final video.
We have over 5 years of handheld filming experience using high end Sony cinema camera and lenses.

MAIN EVENT MEDIA
In addition to the new game zone footage, Avisionary have been videographers for Mayhem Paintball throughout the past year including their 2024 Big Weekend event.
Taking place in August last year, this annual paintball festival sees up to 2,000 players travelling from across the world to attend. Mayhem utilises their entire 40 acre plot for this weekend with over 24 hours of competition played and afterwards requested a number of promotional short videos were produced from the 4+ hours of raw footage taken.
